초록/요약
본 연구는 신체적 외모 완벽주의 척도（Physical Appearance Perfectionism; PAPS）를 타당화하고, 불완전함에 대한 걱정과 이상섭식행동의 관계에서 사회적 외모불안의 매개효과를 확인하였다. 연구 1은 신체적 외모 완벽주의 척도（PAPS）를 타당화하였다. 이를 위해 20~29세 성인 400명을 대상으로 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 한국판 신체적 외모 완벽주의 척도（K-PAPS）는 불완전함에 대한 걱정과 완벽함에 대한 희망으로 구성되는 2 요인 모형이 적합한 것으로 확인되었고, 성별 집단 간 측정동일성도 확보되었다. 본 척도는 양호한 내적 합치도 및 검사-재검사 신뢰도를 보였다. 또한 K-PAPS는 자기부과 완벽주의, 사회부과 완벽주의, 완벽주의적 자기제시 척도와 수렴타당도를 보였고, 신체상염려, 사회적 외모불안, 이상섭식행동, 전반적 신체존증감 척도와 공존타당도를 보였다. 이상섭식행동에 대한 K-PAPS의 증분 타당도를 확인한 결과, 불완전함에 대한 걱정만 유의하게 이상섭식행동을 추가적으로 예측 하였다. 연구 2는 연구 1과 동일한 참가자의 데이터를 사용하여, 불완전함에 대한 걱정과 이상섭식행동의 관계에서 사회적 외모불안의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 불완전함에 대한 걱정과 이상섭식행동의 관계에서 사회적 외모불안이 완전매개하였다. 끝으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 및 향후 연구 방향을 논의하였다. 주요어: 신체적 외모 완벽주의, 신체상, 이상섭식행동, 사회적 외모불안

This study aimed to validate the Physical Appearance Perfectionism Scale （PAPS） and to examine the mediating effect of social appearance anxiety in the relationship between worry about imperfection and disordered eating behaviors. Study 1 validated the Korean version of the Physical Appearance Perfectionism Scale （K-PAPS）. For this purpose, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted with 400 adults aged 20 to 29 years. The results supported a two-factor structure of the K-PAPS, consisting of Worry About Imperfection and Hope for Perfection, and measurement invariance across genders was established. The scale demonstrated good internal consistency and test–retest reliability. In addition, the K-PAPS showed convergent validity through its associations with self-oriented perfectionism, socially prescribed perfectionism, and perfectionistic self-presentation, as well as concurrent validity through its associations with body image concern, social appearance anxiety, disordered eating behaviors, and overall body esteem. Incremental validity analyses predicting disordered eating behaviors showed that only Worry About Imperfection significantly predicted additional variance in disordered eating behaviors. Study 2 used data from the same participants as Study 1 to examine the mediating effect of social appearance anxiety in the relationship between Worry About Imperfection and disordered eating behaviors. The results revealed that social appearance anxiety fully mediated this relationship. Finally, the implications, limitations, and directions for future research are discussed.
