초록/요약
This study examines the Bangladeshi migrant workers experiences of living in South Korea with particular attention to workplace discrimination, labor rights, and institutional responses under the Employment Permit System (EPS). As Korea is growing dependency on foreign labor to its industrial and manufacturing sectors, migrant workers from Bangladesh continue to face unequal treatment, precarious employment conditions, and social marginalization. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, the research draws on in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis to capture the everyday realities of Bangladeshi workers employed in factories, construction sites, and small enterprises. The findings reveal unequal workloads, verbal abuse, denial of leave and promotion and so on. Institutions like Bangladesh Embassy, The Migrant Trade Union, different NGOs and Employment Permit System authority plays a crucial role in the life of migrant workers in South Korea, though their effectiveness is constrained. The study concludes that workplace discrimination against Bangladeshi migrant workers in South Korea is both structural and systemic. To promote fair labor governance, the research recommends stronger bilateral cooperation, legal reforms, empowerment of migrant organizations, and comprehensive right awareness programs. Keywords: Bangladeshi migrant workers, labor rights, discrimination, South Korea, Employment Permit System (EPS), Migrant Trade Union (MTU)
