초록/요약
Sex health education should be a holistic education that respects human rights in various relationships, away from biology-centered and victim prevention-centered education, and education that is helpful in real life. Comprehensive Sexual health Education based on convergence education between subjects or fields will help children establish correct gender sensitivity and sexual ethics and grow into democratic citizens who protect their rights with sexual self-determination. In this study, we investigated the general health education and the current status and perception of Sexual health Education for elementary school health teachers, and found out the level of health teachers' awareness of convergence education-based Sexual health Education and the educational practice needs. We would like to suggest the direction in which we should move forward. The results obtained in this study are as follows. First, 93.7% of the health teachers who participated in the study responded that Sexual health Education was important, and when the importance of health education was investigated, the importance of sexual health was the highest. In addition, it was confirmed that the more health teachers who recognized that Sexual health Education was important, the more they pursued high-level Sexual health Education for students' right sexual ethics, gender sensitivity, sexual self-determination, holistic development, and happiness of life. Second, if health teachers experienced convergence education, that is, if they directly took or observed related classes, and if they participated in training related to convergence education, the degree to which they recognized that they knew about convergence education was high. In addition, among experiences related to convergence education, participation in training showed a significant difference in the need for convergence education-based Sexual health Education. And, according to the experience of practicing convergence education-based Sexual health Education, there was a significant difference in the necessity of convergence education, self-awareness of knowledge related to convergence education, and necessity of convergence education-based Sexual health Education. Third, there was a statistically significant difference when cross-analyzing the necessity of convergence education-based Sexual health Education and the practice requirements of convergence education-based Sexual health Education. In addition, the need for convergence education-based Sexual health Education showed a significant difference according to the intention to practice convergence education-based Sexual health Education. The reason health teachers need Sexual health Education based on convergence education is that they must change according to the direction of future education, that comprehensive Sexual health Education is necessary by organically connecting with various fields through convergence education, and that holistic Sexual health Education closely related to real life is possible and effective. They answered that it is possible to induce learning and learners' interest. Positive opinions about the practice of convergence education-based Sexual health Education are that collaboration with fellow teachers is possible, that learning efficiency and learner-centered education are possible, and that there is interest in research on new education methods. On the other hand, there were negative opinions about the lack of capacity of health teachers for convergence education, the lack of health education system to practice convergence education, and the lack of class research time due to work overload.

성교육은 생물학적 중심, 피해자 예방중심의 교육에서 벗어나 다양한 관계 속에서 인권을 존중하는 전인적 차원의 교육이자 실생활에 도움이 되는 교육이어야 한다. 과목 혹은 분야 간 융합교육을 기반으로 한 포괄적인 성교육은 아이들이 올바른 성인지감수성과 성윤리를 확립하고 성적자기결정권으로 자신의 권리를 지키는 민주시민으로 성장하는데 도움이 될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 초등학교 보건교사를 대상으로 보건교육 전반과 성교육 현황 및 인식을 조사하고, 보건교사의 융합교육 기반 성교육에 대한 인식 정도와 교육 실천 요구를 알아봄으로써 향후 학교 융합교육 기반 성교육의 확산과 성교육의 나아가야 할 방향에 대해 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구에 참여한 보건교사의 93.7%가 성교육이 중요하다고 응답하였으며 보건교육 주제별 중요도를 조사하였을 때 성 건강 주제에 대한 중요성을 가장 높게 인식하였다. 그리고 성교육이 중요하다고 인식하는 보건교사일수록 학생들의 올바른 성 윤리와 성인지감수성, 성적자기결정권 확립과 전인격적 발달과 삶의 행복을 위한 고차원적 목표의 성교육을 추구한다는 것을 확인하였다. 둘째, 보건교사가 융합교육에 대한 경험 즉, 관련 수업을 직접 해 보았거나 참관한 경우, 융합교육 관련 연수에 참여한 경우 융합교육에 대해 잘 알고 있다고 인식하는 정도가 높았다. 또한 융합교육과 관련된 경험 중 연수에 참여 여부가 융합교육 기반 성교육의 필요성에서 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다. 그리고 융합교육 기반 성교육을 실천해본 경험에 따라 융합교육의 필요성, 융합교육 관련 지식에 대한 자기 인식, 융합교육 기반 성교육의 필요성에 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 셋째, 융합교육 기반 성교육의 필요성과 융합교육 기반 성교육의 실천 요구를 교차분석 하였을 때 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 또한 융합교육 기반 성교육의 실천 의향에 따라 융합교육 기반 성교육의 필요성도 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 보건교사는 융합교육 기반 성교육이 필요한 이유로 미래교육의 방향에 맞추어 변화해야 한다는 점, 융합교육을 통해 여러 분야와 유기적으로 연결하여 포괄적 성교육이 필요하다는 점, 실생활과 밀접한 전인적 차원의 성교육이 가능하고 효과적인 학습과 학습자의 흥미 유발이 가능하다는 것으로 응답했다. 융합교육 기반 성교육 실천에 대해 긍정적인 의견은 동료 교사와의 협업이 가능하다는 점, 학습의 효율성과 학습자 중심 교육이 가능하다는 점, 새로운 교육 방법에 관한 연구에 흥미가 있다는 점이다. 반면 융합교육을 위한 보건교사의 역량이 부족하다는 점, 융합교육을 실천하기 위한 보건교육 체계가 갖추어지지 않았고 업무 과중으로 인한 수업 연구 시간이 부족할 것이라는 부정적인 의견도 있었다.
