초록/요약
The present research analysed household energy consumption in Goma town. This is in order to provide the government and investors with a database that is useful to them in making decisions. To analyse data collected through a questionnaire from 436 households, we used descriptive and inferential statistics, the binary system and multi-tier framework analysis permitted to determine the electricity access, while Qgis was used for spatial analysis. According to our results, we found that there is considerable access to electricity in Goma, and households still rely on several sources of energy for different purposes. The results showed that there is a dependence between the energy access or cooking energy with the household’s income and the building materials. The energy market is competitive due to the presence of many players. Our research was limited to household energy consumption in Goma. In the future, we recommend conducting such a study throughout the country. Keywords: Energy access, electricity access, multi-tier framework, cooking energy, Goma town, Democratic Republic of Congo
