이리듐 촉매를 이용한 아민의 알코올로의 전환 반응

초록/요약

알코올로부터 아민의 합성은 다양한 방법이 알려져 있다. 반면에 아민으로부터 알코올 합성에 관련된 연구는 보고된 예가 많지 않다. 아민으로부터 알코올 합성은 단순한 전환으로 보이지만 아민은 좋지 못한 이탈기이기 때문에 실제로 아민으로부터 알코올의 효율적인 전환은 매우 어렵다. 기존에 알려진 방법은 과량의 염기를 사용하거나 높은 온도 등 까다로운 조건을 필요로 한다. 이번 연구에서는 친환경적이고 비용 효율적인 글리세롤을 반응에 필요한 수소 원으로 사용하여 아민을 알코올로 전환하였다. 또한 글리세롤과 효율적인 상호작용을 통해 높은 수율로 알코올을 얻을 수 있도록 N-heterocyclic(NHC) carbene 리간드를 포함하고 있는 이리듐 촉매들을 개발하였다. 이 때 잘 알려진 기존 촉매를 바탕으로 용해도를 향상시키는 전략으로 구조를 변형시켜 반응에 어떠한 효과를 나타내는지 연구하였다.
