NGOs IN THE GLOBAL FRONT : THE CASE OF WORLD VISION INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE TO THE SYRIAN REFUGEE CRISIS

초록/요약

This work critically looks at the responses by world vision international to the Syrian refugee’s migrants. I focused on a moral framework to justify my arguments since humanitarian organizations like world vision international has as its primary objectives in saving the life’s of those affected by the Syrian crisis, alleviating sufferings and to maintain human dignity among those affected by the Syrian crisis which are all elements of morality. The scope of my research is limited from 2011 till date looking at the course of the war in Syria and also the practical and operational implications that come out of the war as Syrian migrants fled their country to seek refuge in surrounding countries. I took a case study of Jordan to discuss on how it suffered from the effects of the war since it happened to be a close neighbor to Syria and it happened to host one of the highest numbers of refugees from Syria. I went further in this research to look at the criticism by international bodies, individual and government that made it difficult for the refugee’s crisis to be easily managed mot especially the United States and Turkey. I concluded this work with alternatives solutions that might stop the conflict in Syria and also prevent future refugee’s cases to occur.
