부모의 부정적인 양육행동과 우울 증상 간의 관계: 거절민감성과 자기침묵의 매개효과

본 연구는 부모의 부정적 양육행동과 우울 증상 간의 관계에서 거절민감성과 자기침묵이 순차적으로 매개하는지를 검증하였다. 이를 검증하기 위해 남녀 대학생 291명을 대상으로 부모의 거절적 양육행동(EMBU-Short)과 부모의 심리적 통제(PCS-YSR), 거절민감성(RSQ), 자기침묵(STSS), 우울 증상(CES-D)를 측정하였고, 구조방정식 모형을 통해 이 관계를 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 부의 모형은 부분매개모형이 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 부의 심리적 통제는 거절민감성과 자기침묵을 순차적으로 매개하여 우울 증상에 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 동시에 직접적으로도 영향을 미쳤다. 반면 부의 거절적 양육행동은 거절민감성과 자기침묵을 매개하여 우울 증상에 간접적으로만 영향을 미쳤다. 모의 모형 역시 부분매개모형이 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 모의 거절적 양육행동에서 거절민감성으로 가는 경로가 유의미하게 나타나지 않아, 오직 모의 심리적 통제만이 거절민감성과 자기침묵을 매개하여 우울 증상에 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 부모의 부정적인 양육행동이 대인관계 취약성 요인과 행동적 요인을 통해 우울 증상에 유의미한 영향을 미친다는 것을 보여줌과 동시에 이 경로가 부모에 따라 다르게 나타날 수 있음을 시사한다. 치료적 개입으로는 거절민감성과 자기침묵을 초점으로 할 것을 제안한다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 및 추후 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

This study examined whether rejection sensitivity and self silencing mediated sequentially in the relationship among negative parenting and depression in the college students. To examine this hypothesis, two hundred and ninety-one students completed embu-short scale, psychological control scale-youth self-report, the rejection sensitivity questionnaire, silencing-the self scale and the center for epidemiological studies-depression scale. The results came out differently between parents. In terms of paternal negative parenting, the model was valid for partial mediation. Paternal psychological control had a both direct and indirect effect on depression symptoms. But, Paternal rejective parenting had a indirect effect only. In terms of maternal negative parenting, the model was valid for partial mediation. But only the path of maternal psychological control and rejection sensitivity was significant and the path of maternal rejective parenting and rejection sensitivity wasn’t. Also, maternal psychological control had only indirect effect on depression symptoms through rejection sensitivity and self silencing. These findings suggest that Negative parenting can affect depression symptom through interpersonal vulnerability and behavior variable, which could be different depending on parents. Intervention would be better if it’s targeted to rejection sensitivity or self silencing but negative parenting. Last, Limitation and future directions were discussed.
