자유회상과제에 대한 해석수준의 효과
초록/요약
본 연구는 기억에 대한 해석수준의 효과를 확인하기 위해 진행하였다. Hunt(1980)는 더 많은 단어를 회상하기 위해 대상들간의 관계적 정보와 개별속성 정보를 함께 부호화해야 한다고 제안하였다. 이 때, 관계적 정보는 상위해석수준에서 초점을 맞추는 정보 특성과 일치하며 개별속성 정보는 하위해석수준에서 초점을 맞추는 정보 특성과 일치한다. 따라서 해석수준과 기억에 대한 관계적/개별속성 정보의 결합효과를 바탕으로 상위해석수준은 개별속성 정보처리를 수행했을 때, 하위해석수준은 관계적 정보처리를 수행했을 때 더 많은 단어를 회상할 것이라고 예상하였다. 이를 확인하기 위해 실험을 진행한 결과 회상단어개수에 대한 해석수준과 부호화정보의 상호작용을 확인할 수 없었다. 하지만 인출 시 범주정보에 의존하는 정도를 나타내는 범주군집화 점수(ARC; Adjusted Ratio of Clustering)에서 해석수준에 따른 유의미한 차이를 확인하였다. 또한 회상단어개수에 대한 해석수준과 ARC 고/저 집단의 유의미한 상호작용을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 해석수준에 따라 사용하는 인출전략이 다르게 나타나며 부호화 과정과 인출 과정에서 사용하는 정보의 특성이 불일치할 때 기억에 더 도움이 된다는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

To better memory, Hunt(1980) suggested that relational and item-specific information should be encoded together. At this point, the relational information correspond to the characteristics about high level construal focus and the item-specific information correspond to the characteristics that low level construal focus respectively. Therefore, this study examined the combined effects about the relational and item-specific information in accordance with construal level. In other word, if the high level construal process the item-specific information, and if the low level construal process the relational information, the more word would be recalled. As a result, in case of recall data, the interaction between construal level and encoded information was not significant. However, for category clustering score(ARC; Adjusted Ratio of Clustering) which is revealing extent to used category at retrieval, the main effect of construal level was significant. Also, there was the significant interaction between construal level and ARC high/low group. The results of this study suggest that using different retrieval strategy according to their construal level and using different information at retrieval process would be more helpful for better memory.
