THE IMPACT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY TOOLS (ICT) IN THE FLOW OF INFORAMATION AND COMMUNICATION DEVELOPMENT : Case study THE MINISTRY OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (CAMEROON

This study aims at investigating the impact of information and communication technology on the ministry of secondary education in Cameroon. The population consists of some workers in the ministry of secondary education and some few random chosen principals of some schools in Douala and the south west provinces. Fifteen principals and thirty staffs were users who participated in the survey. A total of 50 questionnaires were returned for a response rate of 100%. The results of the study reveal that there is significance correlation between the ICT tools (data base system) and the ministry of secondary education. Results from the test hypothesis shows a chi square value of 3.280 which is less than the table value of 21.265 expected at the alpha level of 0.05. As a result of this the null hypothesis which states that the existence of ICT tools in the ministry has a significant impact on communication process. In order to improve on the communication process, In this regard the researcher recommends increase in investment in ICT tools and internet services, also the government should look into how a good and adequate database system is put in place to facilitate communication in the ministry. More so, the researcher also recommends the creation of multimedia ICT infrastructures to help train workers on how to use ICT tools.
