Promotion of economic evelopment in the rural areas of Guatemala

초록/요약

The constant search for power has forced the countries of the world to search for development and to focus on the economic growth of their countries. One of the first models was the Neo Classical Model of Economic Growth, this model states that economic growth requires capital, labor, and technology. As long as a country has these elements, the economic growth will follow. Guatemala has implemented many policies and actions intended to develop the economy and has focused on the promotion of economic growth; however the poverty, inequality, social exclusion and racism have become big detractors for development and economic growth. Guatemala, still has a long way ahead and still has many issues to attend, one of which is the rural areas of the country, and this is a concern that has prompted the creation and implementation of different actions and policies with the sole objective of achieving development and economic growth. This paper is divided in four chapters. The first chapter is very useful in giving a brief introduction to the country, the methodology and in stating the problem. The second chapter is very important, because in it we can find a detailed description of the country’s history and current situation. The third chapter focuses on the presentation of an Action Plan, whose main objective is to help with the implementation of the Integral Rural Development Policy that will contribute in promoting the economic development of the country. The fourth and final chapter is composed by the conclusion.
