Chapter1. In the middle of searching for new soluble inorganic polymers using the reactive silver halide-flux technique, a new thiophosphate, AgTiPS6, has been found and the crystal structure has been determined by single crystal X-ray techniques. AgTiPS6 is composed of the one-dimensional chain, 1∞[TiPS6-]. This chain is constructed with dodecahedral TiS8 and tetrahedral PS4 units by sharing common sulfur atoms. Two TiS8 units are linked by sharing three S atoms and PS4 unit is bridging these TiS8 units to complete the linear chain. The chains are interconnected one another by Ag+ ions perpendicular to the chain direction to build two-dimensional double layers. These layers stack on top of each other with van der Waals gaps between them. The classical charge valence of the compounds should be described as [Ag+][Ti4+][P5+][S22-][S2-]4. Chapter2. Ag1-xZr1-xTaxPS6 (x = 0.13) is composed of the 1-dimensional chain, 1∞[MPS6-]. This chain is constructed with bicapped trigonal prismatic MS8 and tetrahedral PS4 units by sharing common sulphur atoms. MS8 units are linked by sharing three S atoms and PS4 unit is bridging these MS8 units. The chains are linked one another by Ag+ ions to build 2-dimensional double layers. These layers stack on top of each other with van der Waals gaps. The classical charge valence of the compounds should be described as [Ag+]1-x[Zr4+]1-x[Ta5+]x[P5+][S22-][S2-]4 (x = 0.13).
