Empirical Analysis of the impact of human capital on agricultural productivity

초록/요약

This research conducted by content analysis verified the impact human capital investment has on agricultural productivity with Cambodia as case study while looking at the inter-relationship between human capital, agricultural productivity, and FDI and poverty alleviation. To verify the impact agricultural productivity has on development, a comparison of the factors affecting agricultural productivity is done in both Thailand one of the world’s leading exporters of rice (and neighbor of Cambodia) and Cambodia. It is realized that the disparity in productivity is down mainly to two factors, Human Capital and FDI with Thailand having the edge over Cambodia. The research further investigates reasons why Cambodia has a low human capital and further proposes means of improving human capital and how it can impact agricultural productivity and ultimately lead to poverty alleviation.
