초록/요약
본 논문에서는 Mobile WiMAX의 하향링크에서 H.264/AVC로 인코딩 된 동영상의 질을 높이기 위해 새로운 큐 관리 기법을 제 안한다. 동영상 패킷의 GoP, 프레임 타입과 프레임 순서를 파악함 으로써, 큐 길이가 임계치 이상 길어졌을 때, 중요성이 떨어지는 P 또는 B 프레임 패킷을 삭제함으로써 Queue overflow를 미연에 방 지하고, Overflow 발생 시에도 큐에서 손실된 패킷의 타입을 파악 함으로써, 패킷이 전송되어도 복호화가 불가능한 패킷의 전송을 사 전에 차단하는 방법을 제안했다. 제안한 방법을 검증하기 위해 H.264/AVC로 생성한 비디오 트래픽을 분석했고, 각 프레임의 손상 이 동영상 질에 미치는 영향을 측정했다. 제안한 방법을 ns-2 시뮬 레이터와 Evalvid 모듈을 사용해 PSNR 값을 구한 결과 MOS 등 급이 약 8% 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다.
